Team Robison Trentino finished season X in 15th place in the Pro Team competition.
Now when season X is approaching, Pro Team Director Bruno Debertolis, feels confident that his athletes are getting stronger and may become one of the most competitive Pro Teams of the Pro Tour.
“We are really hungry for top results. Summer training has been good and our athletes are motivated to compete,” says Debertolis.
“We had one training camp at the end of July, where our athletes logged lots of kilometers. Then we met again for another camp in September and we will also have a camp in October, both in Val di Fiemme. Finally, the last training camp will be in Livigno just before the season XI starts there,” Bruno informs.
In Livigno, the Italian Pro Team will enjoy the usual excellent snow conditions and some altitude training just before the start of the season XI. All training camps have been attended by elite skiers and recreational skiers from the project Double Poling Academy.
Both elite skiers and recreational skiers attend the Double Poling Academy.
“We have some promising young athletes attending the Academy. We have our sights on the future of the sport,” says Bruno, who has devoted himself to develop long distance skiing and double poling over the years. Bruno has been a pioneer of the double poling technique in the Southern Alps.
Focus on double poling.
Due to the training camps, the team’s cohesion is getting stronger and the Pro Team now feels like a big family. Athletes and team staff develop their cohesion, and Bruno believes that this is a crucial step to become a great team.
“Our main goal is to be the best Pro Team in the Southern Alps and to enjoy every race. Our athletes deserve this satisfaction,” says Bruno.
But good training sessions and team cohesion aren’t the only questions increasing Bruno’s motivation. He is also happy because his sponsors agreed to give the team the same funding as last season, and some new sponsors may even step in.
“Our sponsors trust our work and will continue to help us, despite this complicated situation with Covid-19,” Debertolis ends.
