This Norwegian Pro Team is gearing up for another season in Ski Classics. After securing the 29th position in the Pro Team ranking during Season XIV, Team Coop becomes Team Coop Madshus and expands the squad.
Team Coop Madshus, deeply rooted in Norway, strongly collaborates with some of Norway’s most renowned brands, with Coop, one of the country’s major food retail chains, taking a central role. This season, Madshus has joined hands with Coop as the Pro Team’s primary sponsor, leading to a season of exciting possibilities.

“Coop is one of Norway’s biggest food chains and is owned by the customers, inspiring us to give back not only to the employees but also to the 2 million owners of Coop Norway,” says Pro Team athlete Petter Soleng Skinstad and adds about the collaboration with Madshus:
“This season, Madshus has joined Coop as the team’s main sponsor, and we’ll be working hard to give back to everyone who loves cross-country skiing and Madshus in particular. Together, we’ll be developing the double poling skis of the future, which also will affect the future of classic and skate skis. We’ll also be working hard to promote the sport of cross-country skiing based on the values of both Coop and Madshus and together, they form a perfect match to help us reach our goals of inspiring more people to fall in love with the sport we already love.”
For the upcoming Ski Classics Season XV, the Norwegian squad is bringing six Pro Team athletes, four men and two women: Petter Soleng Skinstad (1989), Mårten Soleng Skinstad (1997), Mathias Aas Rolid (1996), Imanol Rojo (1990), Caroline Madsen (1995), and Marta Cester (1995).
A relevant fact about the squad is that two athletes are from Spain: “Another interesting thing about our team is that two of our athletes are based in Spain (Imanol and Marta). In addition to competing in Ski Classics, Imanol Rojo will also compete in the World Cup with the World Championships in Trondheim as his main goal for the future,” says Soleng Skinstad.
The goal for Ski Classics Season XV is set: “Perform at a high level in and outside of the tracks, sharing our journey on the way. Hopefully, we’ll see good results both in Ski Classics races and in social media, where we hope to inspire thousands of skiers all over the world!” says Petter and elaborates about the Pro Team’s strengths:
“Our key strength is that we are a small team working closely together and with our partners to reach our common goals. Together with Madshus and Swix, we’ll be working hard to both compete at a high level and develop products in the process of doing so and with Coop, we’ll be bringing more than 100 skiers to Marcialonga and other events.”
