With the Visma Ski Classics Season X a new German Pro Team enters the long-distance ski championship to compete in the twelve most prestigious events in Europe. In Starnberg, close to Munich, the new athlete-managed team, currently named “Team Nordic People”, has been formed with two women and five men. Some of the athletes’ names are already familiar to us: the two ladies Jessica Wirth and Ann Cathrin Uhl as well as Michael Kuisle and Robin Frost have so far competed for the former Team Forever Nordic (now renamed to Team Tri Nordic Coaching).
Similarly, Florian Goebel has Visma Ski Classics Pro Team experience as he transfers from xc-ski.de A I N Skimarathon Team. Flo Rohde (athlete at Team Forever Nordic two years ago) steps back into the tracks and completes, together with a fresh face in Visma Ski Classics, Christian Winker, the new dedicated team. The pro team manager is Bernd Frost who acts as a contact person and advisor for the team. “The athletes run the team mostly by themselves and they are assisted in their efforts by a committed support team along the course, a wax team and the club”, says Frost.

In accordance with their motto, the team has already completed their first joint workouts and training sessions in Bormio and Willingen in order to prepare for the strong international competition. Currently, the athletes focus on their individual trainings in their hometowns until they gather again at the end of September in Allgäu and later in Bormio in October and in Livigno for further training camps. As a startup team the plan is to gain experiences, learn from the best pro teams of Visma Ski Classics and focus on supporting the athletes in their sport career.
Visma Ski Classics warmly welcomes this new pro team and looks forward to their first appearance at the Pro Team Tempo in Livigno at the end of November.
