Sunday, February 13, it’s time for Jizerská50. The 50km Visma Ski Classics race is Season XII’s eighth stage and second Grand Classics event and takes place in Bedřichov, Czech Republic.
Jizerská50 is one of the most significant long-distance cross-country skiing events in Central Europe and the third oldest race in Visma Ski Classics. The race dates to the late 1960s, when mountain climbers decided to organize a race in the Jizera Mountains.
The start and finish are in Bedřichov, a mountain village with a unique atmosphere enhanced by local delicatessen and beer, a true “folk fest” for all participants. Additionally, the event honors 15 local mountain climbers who participated in the race in 1970 and four months later perished during their expedition in the mountains of Peru.
Don’t miss out on the event, available on Ski Classics Play. The women start at 7:50 CET, followed by the men at 8:00 CET.
