This Swedish Pro Team is gearing up for its fifth season in Ski Classics. After securing 9th place in the Pro Team Competition during Season XVI, the squad now looks ahead to the upcoming winter season with confidence and ambition.
Maintaining its strong connection with local companies from the Gnosjö region, Ski Team Göhlins continues its mission to grow both the team and its talented Pro Team athletes.
Last winter marked a significant leap forward for the Småland-based squad, climbing from 28th place in 2023/2024 to an impressive ninth overall in Season XVI — the team’s best result to date.
“It was by far our best season. It’s been really nice to have Johannes and Julia on the team as reinforcements. It really felt like we got a boost. Last year was an in-between season, marked by numerous illnesses, during which things didn’t quite work out. That’s why it felt so good to get a proper comeback,” said Pro Team Director Simon Jonsson in a previous interview with ProXCskiing.com.
Småland spirit and young energy
For the upcoming Ski Classics Season XVII, the Swedish Pro team will rely on its youthful energy and regional pride. The roster includes six Pro Team athletes — three women and three men: Hilda Löf (2000), Julia Angelsiöö (1996), Moa Hansson (2001), Elias Andersson (1999), Johannes Eklöf (1995), and the Cub Joel Björnlinger (2003).
“In western Småland’s deepest green forests, Ski Team Göhlins has its base. A team made of Småland’s top talents, with a lot of energy and will, which characterizes us as well as the widely known Gnosjö spirit. Striving and toil give the team the conditions to reach our goals,” says Pro Team Director Simon Jonsson and adds:
“The base for the team contributes to excellent training opportunities in both internal facilities and scenic training tracks. With the Spirit in our bodies, our sponsors as our backbone, and Småland’s ingenuity in our souls, Ski Team Göhlins is paving the way for the young people. Once again, Gnosjö will be put on the map.
