Ski Classics

Germany’s leading long-distance skiing team enters its fifth season in Ski Classics, having finished 22nd in the Pro Team Competition last season.

Established in 2018 to give skiers from the Sauerland region a platform to compete and grow together, the team joined Ski Classics as a Pro Team in 2022.

Driven by a shared passion for cross-country skiing, the team’s ambition is to excel in long-distance racing. Under Pro Team Director Lennert Versen, the squad combines a solid core of experienced athletes who have stayed with the team, several exciting new signings, and a few departures that open the door for fresh talent. The team sees this mix as the right foundation to keep building on.

The whole team spent the summer working hard on roller skis and putting in the running kilometers to lay the groundwork for a strong winter. Bruse Sauerland Ski Team will race every Ski Classics event this season and is aiming to finish higher in the Pro Team ranking than last season’s 22nd place.

Six athletes continue from last season: Lassi Juhanoja, Anton Schaper, Henric Thunander, and Rudolf Dohnal, alongside Alexandra Nilsson and Alexandra Hoffmann on the women’s side.

Agnes Öhrn joins from Team Synnfjell, and Jennifer Antell arrives after winning the Åsarna Ski Marathon, a Ski Classics Challengers event, in January while racing for another team. On the men’s side, John Hermansson, Lars Volter, and the team’s newest signing, Hugo Hilmersson, strengthen the group.
