Russian Winter Team has been training and preparing for the new season with a clear goal in mind. They want to fight against the cream of the crop without giving an inch and get as many podium places as possible.
The Pro Team just finished their training camp in the Caucasus mountains. According to the team director Andrey Tyuterev, the weather was warm, and the athletes were able to undergo all planned sessions. They concluded their week by climbing up a high mountain, and the male skiers reached the top of Elbrus, which is 5642 meters above sea level. That is the highest point in Europe.
The next step for the team is Lake Saimaa Roller-ski Marathon in Imatra, Finland, which is a Challengers event. They are currently sorting out all visa and pandemic formalities to be able to enter the country. Then in October, they will go to Tyumen for some early season skiing on snow.
