Only elite skiers will be allowed to compete in Vasaloppet and Tjejvasan 2021.
This is how the Vasaloppet organization intends to carry out the races 2021 due to the pandemic.
"We have worked very hard to be able to implement this," says Johan Eriksson, acting CEO of Vasaloppet."
Tjejvasan on Saturday 27 February 2021 will be with about 100 participants and Vasaloppet on Sunday 7 March with about 300 men and about 100 women. Skiers who last year placed 1–30 in Tjejvasan and 1–150 for men and 1–50 for women in the Vasaloppet are guaranteed a starting place. There will also be room for all Visma Ski Classics Pro Team athletes and wild cards.
Otherwise, it will be an open arena for about three weeks for the recreational skiers.
