This Czech Pro Team relies on homegrown and German talent, as five athletes are from the Czech Republic, and two are from Germany. Experience and passion for the sport are keywords these athletes share, skiing with their hearts and at the same time being competitive.
Comprising seven passionate athletes (four women and three men) from the Czech Republic and Germany, the eD system Silvini Team is a skiing family uniquely connecting Pro Team athletes with recreational skiers, their families, and the next generation of skiers.
ED SYSTEM SILVINI TEAM
Marek Pazderský, Pro Team Director, distinctly describes their unique approach: “Skiing is everything to us, especially fun, and we do it with our hearts, but at the same time, we take nothing lightly and strive to create the conditions for our skiers to be competitive. We go to races and training camps with the racing team and our other members, of which we currently have around 150. In addition, we organize several races in roller skiing (e.g., Lipnolopet) and long-distance skiing in the winter (e.g., BoBolopet 90km),” says Pazderský and adds:
“We ride the green wave, which unfortunately has been wrapped in a black ribbon since this season when our team suffered a tragic event in the form of the loss of our leader Jiři Pliska, who tragically died in the mountains.”
The Pro Team Director outlines their goals and sentiments for Ski Classics Season XV: “The main goal is to keep the team together with our heads up and say after each race that we did everything we could to be the best we can be. We know it’s probably hard to win Ski Classics with our budget, but we want to be a worthy competitor that will try and surprise. It will be important for all of us to see how we can bridge the negative emotions, and only at the end of the season will we know if we have done it and can move on.”
Marek Pazderský highlights some of the team’s greatest strengths: “The advantages can be that no one expects us to win and that we are not dependent on Ski Classics as a job, so obligations do not tie us down. The biggest demands we put on ourselves are thus our own. We have been training hard since the spring, trying to improve our training, and we believe that we will be strong again in the winter.”
With a solid Pro Team for Ski Classics Season XV: Václav Sedláček (1986), Thomas Bing (1990), Karolína Grohová (1990), Laura Stichling (1995), Anna-Marie Hejná (1999), Martin Jakš (1986), and Petra Hynčicová (1994), we will surely see the colors of the eD system Silvini Team well represented in every event in the upcoming winter season.
