The Ski Classics Challengers event, Arctic Alta Skimarathon, is a 46km long-distance race in freestyle technique taking place this Saturday, February 24, 2024, in Alta, Norway.
Arctic Alta Skimaraton is a beautiful long-distance skiing race in skating technique that starts at Bossekop and finishes at Kaiskuru Ski Stadium, close to the city center of Alta, Norway, running through a long loop around Alta.
The race crosses the beautiful Alta River and other scenic places, with primarily light terrain but one significant climb up the Detsika hill and through a cabin village at the top. Four drinking stations are available on the 46km event after 10, 19, 27, and 40km.
The 46km event is part of the Ski Classics Challengers series, but there are also shorter 20 and 12km events.

As the Arctic Alta Skimarathon 46km race is a Ski Classics Challengers event, Pro Team registered athletes can collect points for the Ski Classics Champion and Youth competitions in their respective genders.
