Trysil Skimaraton, a 42km long-distance cross-country ski race held in classic technique took place today in Østby, Trysil, in the eastern part of Norway, close to the Swedish border, with great tracks and unique atmosphere.
The big winners of the Visma Ski Classics Challengers event were Pro Tour athletes Andreas Nygaard, Team Ragde Eiendom and Martine Ek Hagen, Team Kaffebryggeriet.
The action in the men’s event was intense with Pro Tour athlete Andreas Nygaard, Team Ragde Eiendom dominating the race, winning with a total time of 1:49:21 and more than 3 minutes in front of the field. The battle for the second place was fierce until the finish line, with Pro Tour athlete Thomas Gifstad, Team Rustad IL Oslo finishing in second position and third place going to Michael Boberg, Team RVR.
In the women's event the competition was also exciting. Pro Tour athlete Martine Ek Hagen, Team Kaffebryggeriet, distanced herself from the other athletes and finished the race in first place with a time of 2:11:27. Second place went to Ragnhild Bolstad, Åsila Skilag, with Sofia Johansson, Team Raske Gutter/SKIPAC completing the podium in third place.
