Furusjøen Rundt-Rennet took place today with a 45km race in classic technique in a fantastic terrain in Kvamsfjellet, which is located at the entrance of Rondane National Park, one of Norway’s most beautiful mountain areas.
The Norwegian Visma Ski Classics Challengers event had as winners the Pro Tour athlete Øyvind Moen Fjeld, Lager 157 Ski Team and Kari Øyre Slind, Oppdal IL.
In the men’s race, Pro Tour athlete Øyvind Moen Fjeld, Lager 157 Ski Team, gave no chance to the opponents and finished the race in first place with a time of 1:58:32 followed by Pro Tour athlete Vinjar Skogsholm, Team Parkettpartner Sjusjøen in second place with a time of 2:02:18. In a tough battle for the last place on the podium, not even the photo finish could guarantee who was the fastest, with third place being awarded to Markus Jönsson, Tranemo IF Skidor and Pro Tour athlete Kjetil Tyrom, Team Parkettpartner Sjusjøen, with both athletes having a total time of 2:03:57.
In the women’s race, the competition was arduous and with a beautiful battle between the skiers. Kari Øyre Slind, Oppdal IL, finished the race in first place with a total time of 2:17:23, followed by Pro Tour athlete Oda Nerdrum, Team XPND in second place and Nina Erga Skjeseth, Team Driv Trening – Mislukern completing the podium in third place.
