The Ski Classics Challengers event, Merino Muster, took place this Saturday with a long-distance skiing race in freestyle technique in Wanaka, New Zealand. The freestyle long-distance race, originally planned as a 42km competition but shortened to 22.4km due to snow conditions, delivered exciting victories for Campbell Wright and Julia Kern.
Merino Muster – Men’s Race
In the men’s competition, Campbell Wright claimed victory in 51:44.0.
Takatsugu Uda finished second, +1:03.0 back, with Chip Freeman completing the podium in third, +9:54.0 behind the winner.

Merino Muster – Women’s Race
In the women’s race, Julia Kern took the win in 57:19.0.
Jessie Diggins followed just 4.0 seconds behind in second place, with Olivia Bouffard-Nesbitt third, +2:45.0 back.

As the Merino Muster is a Ski Classics Challengers event, Pro Team registered athletes can collect points for the Ski Classics Champion and Youth competitions in their respective genders.
