Merino Muster – The first Ski Classics Challengers event in New Zealand this weekend
Merino Muster becomes part of the Ski Classics Challengers circuit with a 42-kilometer long-distance skiing race in freestyle technique this Saturday in Wanaka, New Zealand.
Merino Muster is a long-distance skiing event held in Wanaka, celebrating its 29th edition this year, and now joins the Ski Classics Challengers series as the first event in New Zealand on Saturday, August 31 (Friday, August 30, in Europe).
Local Organizing Committee (LOC) about the event:
“Join the 2024 Merino Muster and ski across the rolling and beautiful Mt. Pisa range on New Zealand’s home of cross-country skiing, Snow Farm NZ. This annual event is a must-do on any cross-country skier’s bucket list. It celebrates the annual mustering of the Merino sheep from the high country at the end of each summer for winter grazing.”
