FROM LIVIGNO TO LEVI
The 10thanniversary season of the Visma Ski Classics pro tour, Season X, has 12 events in total, and starts with the prologue weekend in Livingo with the pro team tempo of 15 km on November 29 followed by an mass start prologue of 35 km on December 1, 2019. The Pro Tour X ends in Northern Finland when the 70-kilometer final Ylläs-Levi takes place on April 4, 2020.
The Season X has five stages in Italy, two in Norway and one stage in Austria, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Sweden and Finland. There is a brand new 45-kilometer race called La Venosta in Italy on December 14, 2019. Toblach-Cortina in Italy on February 1 has the shortest distance of 42 km, excluding the prologue events, while Vasaloppet in Sweden on March 1 has the longest course of 90 km. The Pro Team athletes need to battle through a total of 604 kilometers in the 12 stages during the Season X.
The remaining seven events in the calendar are Kaiser Maximilian Lauf, 60 km, in Austria on January 11, La Diagonela, 65 km, in Switzerland on January 18, Marcialonga, 70 km, in Italy on January 26, Jizerska Padesatka, 50 km, in the Czech Republic on February 9, Birkebeinerrennet, 54 km, in Norway on March 21, Reistadløpet, 50 km, in Norway on March 28.
In addition to the new race La Venosta, there are more fresh features in the pro tour during the Season X. La Diagonela has now two sprint competition points while the climb one has been removed, the first hill at Vasaloppet is now a climb competition point at 3 km and Ylläs-Levi has added another climb point at Keskinenlaki to add more drama for the final race. In total there are 12 sprint competition check points and 15 climb competition points during the Season X.
