Event 1 Season X: Livigno Pro Team Tempo 15 km: Friday November 29, 2019
The Visma Ski Classics season starts in Livigno, Italy, close to the Swiss border, with the Pro Team Tempo of 15 km. The Season X will get a great send-off to a thrilling season as the pro teams and their athletes have a chance to present their new race suits, sponsors and introduce their new recruits showing what their colors of their suits are really capable of.
At the Pro Team Tempo, the Pro Teams will face each other in the same format as last year. The 5 km loop that will be skied three times, runs along the valley of Livigno surrounded by beautiful landscapes with an altitude above 1800m a.s.l. There are also some indigenous houses along the course that characterize the history of the town and add some extra flavor to the race.
Visma Ski Classics – Pro Team Tempo Rules
The Pro Team Tempo event is organized as an interval start competition with block starts, one Pro Team is starting at a time in reversed order according to the Pro Team ranking. The gap between the blocks are 3 minutes.
The finishing time of the 3rd ranked male of the team will count for the classification. All Pro Team female athletes start in a pursuit calculated on the total male time, if there are more than one female athletes in a Pro Team, they start together at the same start time. First female athletes to finish the pursuit decides the result of the Pro Team Tempo. Minimum 3 skiers per team on the Pro Team Tempo must start in order to receive Pro Team Points.
