The Norwegian Pro Team, Team Straye Kästle, consists of ten Pro athletes for season XI.
“During the summer of 2020, we gathered the correct group of skiers, the right sponsors, and the necessary partners, and are ready to be seen, perform and contribute to the great atmosphere at all Visma Ski Classics events,” says Pro Team Director Lars Myrseth Kurås.
Tuva Toftdal Staver makes a comeback this year in the new Norwegian Pro Team. Among lots of great results, Tuva was second in König Ludwig Lauf 2014, representing Team Coop.
“Our team consists of a varied field of athletes. The ambition is to gather points in all events, with the main focus in Marcialonga, Vasaloppet and Birkebeinerrennet. Alos to make podium finishes in Challengers events, especially in Trysil-Knut Rennet and Furusjøen Rundt,” says Lars Myrseth Kurås.
“We are excited to see if Jørgen Myking is defending his victory in Trysil-Knut this winter. Following the footsteps of Joar Thele, former kayaking professional, Per Christian Wessel with over 30 national titles in kayaking, will be a great addition to our Pro team,” Kurås continues.
“Despite the difficult circumstances and lack of snow in Norway our has been good. With some of the athletes having full-time jobs, we have been monitoring the total load, as well as the lack of snow is forcing us to be creative with our training. Installing skiergs and treadmills in our homes, doing the “elghufs,” and longer roller ski sessions has made us ready for season XI
Unfortunately, two of the team members (Erik Sebastian Ranberg and Live Lindemark) both suffered from a broken collarbone this summer. They are now working well towards the postponed start of the Pro tour.
“Team Straye Kästle wants to increase the popularity of Visma Ski Classics amongst the younger generation, inspire the “average Joe”, and race against the best athletes in the world of long distance skiing,” Kurås ends.
