The Finnish, Swedish, Norweigan Pro Team Team Nordic Athlete consists of seven Pro athletes for season XI.
“We are aiming high for season XI. We will do everything we can for Morten Eide Pedersen, so he will be able to be on top in 5-6 races and win the Champion competition,” says Pro Team Director Kim Mäenpää.
The new Finnish, Swedish, Norwegian team, developed from former Team Mäenpää, can look back on a good summer and autumn from a training point of view.
“We have had to make some adjustments around the training camps but have been able to perform a lot and good training. We had to cancel the camp we planned on Mallorca last week. Instead, we trained in Lillehammer, Norway. It was an excellent camp with lots of training hours,” says Kim.
All athletes in the team participated in the camp except Niko Koskela, who trained at home in Finland.
The team captain, the Norwegian Morten Eide Pedersen, has a clear goal for season XI; winning the Champion competition.
“We will do everything to help Morten take the yellow bib. He is an expert on the climb bib as well, so it can come along,” says Kim with a smile.
On the women’s side, the team has two interesting Swedish athletes who debut in the Pro Tour in season XI; Linn Sömskar and Hedda Bångman.
“Linn has excellent sprint qualities and will be interesting to see in her debut season. I think she can keep up well, says Kim and continues;
“Hedda is on her way back after a foot injury and must be given some time to rehabilitate. But she’s on her way.
