Finlandia-hiihto 50 km classic took place today, and Team Mäenpää's number one skier Ari Luusua won the race and managed to get a great preparation for Vasaloppet. He was followed by Russian Marathon Team's Aleksei Dvoskin who was six seconds behind the winner. Mikko Kuusela from Finland was third almost four minutes after Ari Luusua. Niina Virtanen was the fastest lady today followed by Noora Kivikko and Terhi Pollari. All of these three skiers have participated in Visma Ski Classics events.
Finlandia-hiihto continues tomorrow when the 50 km skating race takes place. It is a FIS Worldloppet Cup race and E-Liberty Ski Team and Team Jobstation Rossignol pro skiers will face Mr. Finlandia Kari Varis who has 11 wins in Finlandia-hiihto.
