This weekend is extremely busy in Nordic skiing as there are so many long distance ski events around the world and of course the FIS World Championships in Seefeld are going on as we speak. The Vasaloppet Winter Week started today with the 31st edition of Tjejvasan and Lager 157 Ski Team's Britta Johansson Norgren won the 30 km race, but there was a tight fight between her and Lina Korsgren, Team Ramudden, and Katerina Smutná, ED System Bauer Team. There were six women within eight seconds at the finish.

"I realized that things started to happen when I sped up a bit," Johansson Norgren said at the finish. "I felt really strong energy-wise and my muscles worked well. This was a great final preparation for the actual Vasaloppet."
