The first and leading Swiss Pro Team brings fresh Alpine air to the Ski Classics Season XVII. Their mission is to provide a platform for Switzerland’s elite athletes to compete at the highest international level, offering opportunities beyond the national team structure.
With a diverse lineup of seven passionate athletes – three women and four men – representing Switzerland, Australia, Germany, and France, Team BSV IBEX combines international flair with strong Alpine roots. The team consists of Katerina Paul (1996), Franziska Müller (1995), Noëlie Maurin (2000), Lauro Brändli (1997), Curdin Räz (2000), Gianluca Wenger (2002), Christian Winker (1996).
“We give our young athletes enough time to develop step by step without any pressure. Our long-term goal is to eventually develop a Top 10 skier for Switzerland,” says Pro Team Director Markus Walser, and adds:
“Furthermore, we aim to make Ski Classics more popular in Switzerland and Central Europe.”
Founded with the clear vision of strengthening the Swiss presence in long-distance skiing, Team BSV IBEX continues to build momentum season after season.
While their athletes might not yet be fighting for the overall top spots, their dedication, team spirit, and commitment to the sport make them strong ambassadors for Ski Classics and long-distance skiing across the Alpine region.
