The first and only Swiss Pro Team brings fresh Alpine air to the Ski Classics Season XVI. Their mission is to provide a platform for Switzerland's elite athletes with the unique opportunity to compete in international races on a high level outside the national team.
With a diverse team of six passionate athletes, three women and three men, from Switzerland, Australia, and Germany, born between the mid-90s and early 2000s, Team BSV IBEX is a tight-knit family: Helena Guntern (2002), Katerina Paul (1996), Franziska Muller (1995), Gianluca Wenger (2002), Curdin Raz (2000), and Lauro Brandli (1997).
"Our goal is to give the young athletes enough time to develop step by step. With the longtime goal, to develop once a top 10 skier for Switzerland," says Markus Walser, Pro Team Director, and adds:
"Furthermore, we aim to make Ski Classics even more popular in Switzerland and middle Europe."
While these Pro Team athletes may not be poised to topple the Ski Classics ranking, they are doing their best to promote Ski Classics and long-distance skiing in their home countries.
