The Italian Pro Team, SottoZero Gold Team Zorzi Max - Orsaiec, fortifies its ranks by adding three really experienced skiers who certainly have been around the block for some time. Mariano Covi turns 60 in April, but he still wants to get into action wearing the SottoZero race suit. Sandro Giacomelli Pila is even older than his teammate Covi as he was born in 1956. Franco Prezzi is the youngest of these new recruits as he is going to celebrate his 52nd birthday in May. They all have FIS licenses, but no data of their past results can be found on the FIS site.
This is really what Visma Ski Classics is all about as skiers of all ages can participate and join the family. The upcoming event in Season X is Vasaloppet on Sunday next week, and these three master skiers will be there to fight for their personal goals on the 90 km journey from Sälen to Mora in Sweden.
