Swedish Pro Tour skier Sofia Lindberg joins the Finnish Team Edux for the upcoming winter. Lindberg represented Team Nordic Jobs Worldwide in Season XII, and now she looks into new challenges with the Finnish Pro Team.
Team Edux writes on their Instagram:
“Team Edux gets reinforcement from Sweden, as 30-year-old Sofia Lindberg from Umeå joins the team. Sofia’s best merits from season 21-22 were 11th place in Prato Piazza Mountain Challenge, 14th place from Jizerska Padesatka, and 11th place from Tjejvasan. Additionally, her 10th place in the 10km classic at Swedish Nationals is worth mentioning. Sofia chose Team Edux because the team has good, strong skiers and great opportunities to improve. Additionally, excellent waxing service played a role in choosing the team. Sofia’s next season’s goal is to reach top 10 in Ski Classics.”
Pro Team Director Eric Storvall describes the team’s newest member as a solid addition to the team:
“Sofia has skied well in Ski Classics and is a good addition to our team. She has high goals, and it is also great for us, as a team, to have a Swedish skier because Ski Classics is so popular in Sweden. It is also nice to have a local skier representing our team in the season’s highlight event, Vasaloppet. Hopefully, it will bring positive visibility to the team.”
Sofia comments on her new team:
“Feels exciting and inspiring to be part of Team Edux. I hope we can challenge and develop each other in the team. Regarding goals for the coming season, I want to continue developing and believe that a top 10 position is possible.”
Lindberg has not been able to join the team on its camps due to her job as a biomedical analyst at the Norrland’s University Hospital in Umeå. Still, she will join the team in December when the Ski Classics season kicks off at Bad Gastein, Austria.
