Ski Classics today announces the creation of an Athletes Representation Board consisting of a selection from the Ski Classics Legends.
Ski Classics is continuing its development and launching an Athletes Representation Board consisting of SC Legends. To become a Legend, a Pro Tour athlete must win at least five individual Ski Classics events, with the races before the first season in 2011 also counting for the athletes participating in Ski Classics.
At the moment, only 20 skiers were inducted as Legends into the Ski Classics Hall of Fame, ranging from 25 victories, Britta Johansson Norgren (The G.O.A.T), to 5 wins. A selection of the Legends will be invited to meet twice a year, before and after the season, to discuss possibilities and issues related to Ski Classics.
The first meeting of the Athletes Representation Board was held last Friday.
“We have been looking for some years how to install a body that, over time, creates an open flow between Pro Team athletes and the Tour. And what could be a better body than our SC Legends? They have all proven their dedication to the sport and are also experienced from many different aspects of life in Ski Classics, such as the Pro Team environment, media relations, partner dialogues, etc. Hopefully, this new body will, over time, continue to strengthen our common platform where Ski Classics, Events, Pro Teams, Athletes, Partners, and Media meet with Fans,” says David Nilsson, CEO Ski Classics.
