Yesterday, Team Ramudden announced that a trio of skiers left the team for the coming season. Today they present two new Pro Tour skiers on the men’s side.
“I would say that we are stronger now than we were at the same time last year,” says Gustaf Korsgren.
A lot is going on in Silly Season in the Pro Teams ahead of next season’s Ski Classics. At the end of last week, it was clear that Max Novak would leave Team Ramudden. Now we can reveal Team Ramudden’s men’s team for the coming season.
Johannes Eklöf and Herman Paus, who both impressed during last season, remain on the team. In addition, Alfred Buskqvist and Amund Riege will compete for Team Ramudden.
“Alfred is only 26 years old, but he has experience. He will now focus on long-distance skiing, and this first season is mainly about developing as a long-distance skier and then counting on results in year two. But I know that he is very eager to look at the green bib,” says Gustaf Korsgren and continues:
“Amund Riege is 21 years old and competed for Rustad IL last winter. He has been part of the “iron gang” in the men’s group in many of the races he has competed. He is a hidden gem on the talent side and has very high potential.”
Riege’s top position in last season’s Ski Classics was 13th place at Jizerská50 and 21st at Vasaloppet.
“This feels like a fascinating team, and I would say that we are stronger now than we were at the same time last year. And when we started the team four years ago, one of our goals was to give the young people a chance in Ski Classics. Because then there were not so many young people who went to Ski Classics and, above all, not young girls, we filled that void. We have worked hard to develop the individuals and, at the same time, developed the group and put it at the center. Part of it now is that we will look three years ahead and not compulsorily only look at results in the coming season,” concludes Korsgren.
