The Pro Team athlete was in the fight for the Sprint bib into the last competition weekend of Season XIV. Now, the 24-year-old Norwegian is switching to Team Eksjöhus.
During Ski Classics Season XIV, the men’s battle for the Green Sprint bib was a duel between Team Ramudden’s Alfred Buskqvist and Team Aker Daehlie’s Vebjørn Moen. Buskqvist was the overall winner with 269 points, and Moen finished with 208. Third place went to Lorenzo Busin, Team Internorm Alpenplus Trentino, with 114 points.
Now, Vebjørn Moen’s pursuit of Sprint points for the upcoming winter will take place in a new Pro Team, as he has now signed with Team Eksjöhus.
Moen made his Ski Classics debut during Season XIV and focused on the sprint points. The best results were the 31st three times (Jizerská50, Birkebeinerrennet, and Summit 2 Senja). In the season before, he made his World Cup debut in Drammen (Sprint) and was one second from qualifying for the heats.
Team Eksjöhus announced the news on social media:
“It feels excellent to sign for Team Eksjöhus, a team with clear goals and ambitions. I look forward to getting to know both the athletes and the people around the team I will be working with. Towards next season, I look forward to working hard for the team to achieve good results and create a strong team,” says Moen.
“We are pleased that Vebjørn is signing with us! A fantastic guy who gives the group an extra edge. Vebjørn will also go for the green bib, something that has been a goal in the team’s planning for next season,” says Pro Team Director Espen Träldal.
On the men’s side, Team Eksjöhus has presented the new signing Thomas Ødegaarden and extensions with Axel Jutterström, Morten Eide Pedersen, and Eirik Sverdrup Augdal.
