Team Curira is a Swedish Pro Team with six athletes. Until now, the most notable skier has been Klas Nilsson, 5th at Vasaloppet in 2020 and 12th at Jizerska Padesatka in 2021, but the mantle of the leader will now be assumed by Stian Hoelgaard from Norway. He is a five-time Vasaloppet podium skier, and he ended Season XI by being second at Årefjällsloppet. He has been on the podium 12 times in his career so far.
Gabriel Thorn has been a top-40, or so, Vasaloppet skier since 2015 while Alfred Nilsson is a 22-year-old new beginner in long distance skiing. There are two young female skiers in the team, Hanna Lodin and Saga Nilsson. Lodin showed signs of things to come with her 4th place at Båstad-Mölle and 6th place at Klarälvsloppet, both Challengers roller-ski events.
According to the team director Johan Kask, they go by the famous motto from Steve Prefontaine, a famous American track runner, which is: “to give anything less than your best, is to sacrifice the gift.”
