The new French/Swiss Pro Team, Team Decathlon Experience, has been training hard for season XI this summer.
The Pro Team athletes have met several times during the summer to build team cohesion and take advantage of the French Alps training conditions.
Team Decathlon Experience is a merge between former E-liberty Ski Team and team Crédit Agricole Franche-Comté and was announced in the beginning of July. Right after the announcement the new Pro Team had their first training camp where the Pro Team athletes could meet for the first time.
“We were in Bessans to train in altitude. We stayed in a village in Marianne Valley situated at 1800 meters above sea level. It was the perfect location to train between 1800 and 3000 meters, enjoy some fresh air and escape the heatwave that we faced during the week. We run in the mountains and roller skied at the famous Col de L’Iseran to get a lot of elevation”, says Roxane Lacroix, previously in the Ed System Bauer Team.
The Pro Team met again in August to focus more on roller ski sessions.
“We met in the Jura Mountains, the perfect place to do long double poling sessions. We have gained a lot of kilometers, with sessions above 100 km,” says Roxane and continues;
“We have a good atmosphere; our cohesion is amazing. There is a lot of jokes and laughs beside the training sessions. Everyone is dedicated to improving and to make a strong Pro Team. Both men and women help each other to improve.”
