After a long and successful career, Lina Korsgren, Team Ramudden, puts her skis on the shelf. The Visma Ski Classics event Ylläs-Levi on Saturday will be her last race.
In an Instagram post earlier today, Korsgren announced that she would be retiring from the professional rankings after many years of training, adversities, and success.
On Saturday, Lina Korsgren will be on the start line for the final event of the Visma Ski Classics Season XII, a race that will also mark her last occasion as a Pro Tour skier.

“I feel that I have achieved what I wanted to achieve with the sport, and I feel that I want to quit now while I still think it’s fun and the body still holds together. I am satisfied with what I have achieved,” Korsgren says to SVT Sport.
Korsgren, on the other hand, will stay connected with skis and long-distance skiing as a Pro Team Director for Team Ramudden.
“I feel that I have more to give by running and developing Team Ramudden,” she says.
She further explains her decision to retire:
“It’s nothing that I wanted to go out with, but I have had a process and discussed it with my husband, but I did not say it right away until a week ago. It has been a process in my head,” Korsgren concludes to SVT Sport.
Lina Korsgren has won Vasaloppet three times: 2018, 2020 and 2021. Last winter, in Season XI, she became the overall winner in the Visma Ski Classics.
