Interview with Emilie Fleten, Team Ramudden (2nd place)
Interview with Anikken Gjerde Alnæs, Team Engcon (3rd place)
In the women’s race, which started 5 minutes after the men’s at 10:00 CET, we had already had good action at the Samedan 5.5km mark Sprint. Guro Jordheim, Team Aker Dæhlie, crossed first, followed by Stina Nilsson, Team Ragde Charge, and Anikken Gjerde Alnæs, Team Engcon.
After the first Sprint of the day, and with 33km to go, Emilie Fleten, Team Ramudden, upped the pace and only Silje Øyre Slind, Team Aker Dæhlie, and Stina Nilsson, Team Ragde Charge, could follow, with the chasers a few seconds back.
The women kept working hard, and with 30km to go, a new trio was formed. Emilie Fleten, Silje Øyre Slind, and Anikken Gjerde Alnæs were the new leaders, with the closest chasers, Kati Roivas and Hanna Lodin, 16 seconds back.
With 24km to go, the leading trio increased the gap to the duo to 40 seconds, with Jenny Larsson and Stina Nilsson fighting hard to close the gap to the second group, another 12 seconds behind.
At Piste 21 Sprint split, it was time for Anikken Gjerde Alnæs, Team Engcon, to cross first, followed by Silje Øyre Slind, Team Aker Dæhlie, and Emilie Fleten, Team Ramudden. Now, with five skiers – Jenny Larsson, Kati Roivas, Stina Nilsson, Guro Jordheim, and Hanna Lodin – the chasing group was already 52 seconds behind the leaders.
From there, the front of the race was established, with the leaders increasing the gap after each split and the chasers fighting for 4th place. With about 10km to go, the chasing group was still together, with the five skiers more than one minute and a half behind the leading trio and the gap still growing.
In the end, Silje Øyre Slind, Team Aker Dæhlie, used all her strength to win Engadin La Diagonela 2025 in a convincing performance and her first-ever Ski Classics Pro Tour win.
Emilie Fleten, Team Ramudden, crossed the line in second, 3.1 seconds back, and Anikken Gjerde Alnæs, Team Engcon, managed to get the third podium place, 17.9 seconds behind the winner.
