Visma Ski Classics Pro Team Skimarathon Team Austria went to the Dachstein glacier last weekend with the German wax specialist Sepp Stadler to test non-flour waxes and new ski equipment.
The former top serviceman of Team Serneke, Russian Marathon Team and Team Peltonen takes over the Austrian Pro Team’s ski service.
In the next few weeks, the Skimarathon Team Austria athletes will focus on long, low-frequency snow training sessions to optimize technique and material before the start of season XI.
Also, the German Visma Ski Classics Pro Team endless local Nordic Team trained hard on the Dachstein glacier even though the view could have been better.
Visma Ski Classics Pro Team Director Lukas Bauer is on-site as the Polish national team coach. More national teams on the glacier is; Germany, France, Ukraine, Romania, and Serbia using the good snow conditions to prepare for the upcoming season’s first races. Especially on weekends, many young skiers from ski clubs and sports schools all over Austria and Germany train currently on the glacier tracks.
”In the next few weeks, many long distance skiers are planning to collect their first snow kilometers at 2700 m”, says Peter Kiene, Pro Team Director of Skimarathon Team Austria, before he shares further news about his Pro Team;
“Nils Weirich will probably be sidelined most winter due to a complicated, broken elbow,” says Kiene.
Babsi Walchhofer, the new face in the Pro Team, plans to concentrate on the Continental Cup initially but will compete for Skimarathon Team Austria in Visma Ski Classics events from January onwards.
