The Ski Classics Challengers event Tanumsloppet is a 40km long-distance rollerski race in classic technique taking place this Sunday, August 14, at Tanumshede, Sweden.
For the fifth year and the first time as a Ski Classics Challengers, Tanumsloppet will take place in Tanumshede, in the west of Sweden.
The new Ski Classics Challengers event is a 40km long-distance rollerski race in classic technique, and the organizers invite professional athletes, as well as recreational skiers and youngsters, to an event with an enjoyable course with scenic landscapes and a good road surface.
The rollerski track is relatively flat and suits all levels of rollerskiers. The main race distance, part of Ski Classics Challengers, is 40km, while shorter distances are offered. Tanumsloppet is also seeding race for Vasaloppet.
“The first lap is 22 kilometers, and the second 18. We start with a lap on the rollerki track. Here there’s a mix of some hills and then more flat parts. We have received compliments from those who have been here and tested the course,” says event director Ulf Brahm and continues:
“The starting field looks really good.”
Many Pro Tour skiers have already confirmed their participation in this year’s edition: Max Novak (Team Aker Dæhlie), Alfred Buskqvist (Team Ramudden), Hedda Bångman and Paul Combey (Team Nordic Expérience), Magni Smedås (Team Eksjöhus), Hilda Löf (Ski Team Göhlins), Patrick Fossum Kristoffersen and Thomas Gifstad (Team Robinson Trentino), Marcus Johansson, Linnea Johansson, Karolina Hedenström, and the 16-year-old Alvar Myhlback (Lager 157 Ski Team).
