The French Visma Ski Classics Challengers event had as winners the Pro Tour athlete Céline Chopard Lallier, Team Nordique Crédit Agricole Franche Comté and Clément Parisse, Douane/Megeve.
Good weather and excellent snow conditions prevailed in this year’s edition and La Savoyarde Caisse d’Épargne took place today with a 42km race in skating technique at La Feclaz, in the heart of Savoie Grand Revard Plateau, with a panoramic view of Mont Blanc and the Lake Bourget, the largest natural lake in France.
In the women’s race, the competition was fast and with a beautiful battle between the top 3 skiers who distanced themselves from the field on the first lap and finished less than 30 seconds apart. Pro Tour athlete Céline Chopard Lallier, Team Nordique Crédit Agricole Franche Comté, winner of three Visma Ski Classics Challengers events so far this season, finished the race in first place with a time of 1:45:09.8, followed by Coraline Thomas Hugue in second place and Emilie Bulle completing the podium in third place.
In the men’s race, after completing the first lap in a field of 15 skiers, the pace increased for the last 21km and the athlete Clément Parisse, Douane/Megeve gave no chance to the opponents and finished the race in first place with a total time of 1:30:36.7, with more than 15 seconds in front of the pursuers. Pro Tour athlete Paul Goalabre, Team Nordique Crédit Agricole Franche Comté, sprinted for second position with Pro Tour athlete Thomas Chambellant, E-Liberty Ski Team, completing the podium in third place.
