Torleif Syrstad, Team Engcon, won the Ski Classics event Birkebeinerrennet with a powerful solo breakaway. Syrstad completed the tenth stage of Ski Classics Pro Tour and the fourth and final Grand Classics event of Season XVII in a total time of 2:20:27.3.
Second place went to Ole Jørgen Bruvoll, Team Engcon, 4:09.5 back. A remarkable performance from Runar Skaug Mathisen, Lager 157 Ski Team, earned him third place on the podium, 4:09.5 behind the winner.
