Originally planned to be a 42km race with an initial 4km lap and two additional 19km laps, Östersund Ski Marathon was carried out with an introductory master's lap of 4km and thereafter 6 laps on a 6km loop in a total of 40km in classic style due to adverse weather conditions and lack of snow, but it was nevertheless a race full of emotions.
The winners of Östersund Ski Marathon were Pro Tour athlete Andreas Holmberg, Lager 157 Ski Team and Frida Hallquist, Åsarna IK.
With a total time of 1:58:48.1, Frida Hallquist, Åsarna IK, did not give any chances to the opponents and finished first with more than 4 minutes in front of the second place Signe Rosenberg, Åsarna IK and more than 18 minutes in front of third place Caroline Olsson, Trv FF.
In the men's race, a podium full of Pro Tour Athletes with Andreas Holmberg, Lager 157 Ski Team, dominating the race, winning with a total time of 1:39:44.2 and more than 3 minutes in front of the field. The battle for the second position was quite fierce, with a difference of less than 1 second Johan Persson, Team Ramudden finished in the second position, with third place going to Sivert Halfdan Bergan, Team Synnfjell.
