This weekend, the Ski Classics Pro Tour Season XVII continues with Marcialonga Bodø on Saturday, March 21, 2026. Here is all the information you need to know ahead of the eleventh Pro Tour event of the season.
Marcialonga Bodø
The Ski Classics Pro Tour heads north to Marcialonga Bodø, a unique event on the calendar that plays an important role in the final phase of the season.
Originally planned to take place in Bodø, the event has been relocated to Sulitjelma due to warm weather and rain in the Bodø and Valnesfjord areas.
A new course in Sulitjelma
For 2026, the race will be held on a 15.3km loop course completed three times, totaling 46km, in scenic mountain terrain, with start and finish at Jakobsbakken in Sulitjelma.
Sulitjelma is located near the Swedish border and close to the Swedish national parks Sarek and Padjelanta. The area is known for its spectacular landscape and reliable snow conditions, offering a beautiful and challenging setting for a Ski Classics Pro Tour event.

Sulitjelma: a historic mining region in the mountains
Sulitjelma is known not only for its reliable snow conditions and scenic mountain landscape, but also for its deep roots in Norway’s industrial history. The area has long been associated with copper mining, with operations dating back to the late 1800s.
For more than a century, Sulitjelma was one of Norway’s most important mining communities, shaping both the local culture and infrastructure in this region. Today, traces of this heritage remain visible in the landscape, adding a unique historical dimension to the race environment.
A decisive event in the Pro Tour
As Event 11 of Season XVII, Marcialonga Bodø comes at a crucial point in the calendar, just one week after Birkebeinerrennet and ahead of the final events in Northern Norway.
With only a few races remaining, every result carries significant weight in the fight for the overall standings. The event could play an important role in shaping the battles for the Champion, Sprint, Climb, and Youth bibs.
