The SC Ranking saw many changes and a new leader after Marcialonga Bodø last weekend. Here is an overview of the updated ranking.
After Marcialonga Bodø, the eleventh Pro Tour event of Season XVII, Anikken Gjerde Alnæs, Team Engcon, moves to #1 in the SC Ranking with 25.823.237 points, ending Emilie Fleten’s long-standing reign at the top.
Fleten had held the number one position since December 2024, when she took over the lead following her victory at the Bad Gastein Criterium. Her rise to the top began in March 2024 after her win at Vasaloppet, when she entered the overall top 3 for the first time. She later matched a historic record by counting 12 victories from her 12 best results — a feat previously achieved only by Emil Persson.
Now, after 66 weeks as the World’s top-ranked long-distance skier, Fleten is replaced by Gjerde Alnæs, who becomes the newest name to lead the SC Ranking.
Since its introduction in 2020, the SC Ranking has been dominated by a small group of long-distance specialists. With Anikken Gjerde Alnæs now taking over the top spot, she joins an exclusive list of athletes who have reached number one:
- Andreas Nygaard – 13 weeks
- Petter Eliassen – 46 weeks
- Britta Johansson Norgren – 8 weeks
- Morten Eide Pedersen – 1 week
- Tord Asle Gjerdalen – 1 week
- Lina Korsgren – 48 weeks
- Emil Persson – 147 weeks
- Emilie Fleten – 66 weeks
- Anikken Gjerde Alnæs – current leader
In the SC Ranking, the global ranking system for long-distance cross-country skiers, Anikken Gjerde Alnæs is now followed by Emilie Fleten, Team Ramudden, in second place, with 25.726.654 points. Stina Nilsson, Team Ragde Charge, is in third place with 24.634.602 points.
In the top 10, Torleif Syrstad, Team Engcon, climbs to 5th place (from 7th) with 24.487.807 points; and Amund Riege, moves up to 8th position (from 10th) with 24.245.358 points.
After Marcialonga Bodø, the Top 10 includes two Pro Team athletes from Sweden and eight from Norway.

Get to know how the SC Ranking system works!
The SC Ranking points are calculated on the percentual time as the skier is behind the winning time in their gender with an exponential drop of points. This makes it possible to create one single ranking for both women and men, professional and recreational skiers.
Each skier can include results from their best 12 races within 24 months. The woman or man with the most points will have the #1 rank. In a Ski Classics Pro Tour event, the winning woman and man receive 2.000.000 points; in a Challengers event, the winners collect 500.000 points.
For the Pro Team athletes, Podium Bonus Points are also awarded to the top three skiers in each gender. A Pro Tour event winner gets 200.000 points, 2nd place brings 100.000 points, and 3rd place awards 40.000 points.
As a registered user, you can filter places based on nationality, age group, and gender by using the Filter Tab on the view set on your page.
