The Ski Classics Challengers event, Holmenkollmarsjen, is a 52km long-distance race in classic technique taking place this Saturday, February 14, 2026, in Oslo, Norway.
Holmenkollmarsjen is one of Norway’s most traditional and popular cross-country ski races, held every winter in Oslo. The race takes participants through beautiful forest terrain and over the rolling hills surrounding the Norwegian capital, finishing at the world-famous Holmenkollen National Arena.
The main event, Holmenkollmarsjen 52km, starts in the legendary Sørkedalen valley. From there, skiers face 52 kilometers and 1,020 meters of elevation gain through some of the most spectacular parts of Nordmarka.
The course offers everything you could wish for in a classic long-distance race: challenging climbs, glittering frozen lakes, fast descents, and breathtaking winter scenery all the way to the finish line.
First organized in 1974, the Holmenkollmarsjen has become a true celebration of Norwegian ski culture. Each year, thousands of skiers of all ages and levels – from elite athletes to enthusiastic recreational skiers – take part in the event.
According to the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), the event is organized by Skiforeningen (The Association for the Promotion of Skiing), which maintains the extensive trail network in the Oslo region.
