Today we finish the event presentation of season XI with the season finale event Ylläs-Levi. The 70-kilometer race takes place on April 17th.
The concept of Ylläs-Levi has existed for many years as a lot of people have skied from Ylläs to Levi, both popular ski resorts in Finland. Then in 2016, some cross-country skiing enthusiasts rolled up their sleeves and organized an actual ski event called Ylläs-Levi.
The course starts in the middle of Ylläs Ski Resort by the downhill slopes and goes through scenic landscapes through Lapland’s wilderness where local reindeer herds can easily be spotted. The race finish is in the center of the lively winter wonderland village Levi. Two Visma Ski Classics Climbs at 8 km and 27 km as well as a Sprint at 15 km keeps up a high pace from the very beginning.
Since 2017, Ylläs-Levi has been a member of the Visma Ski Classics family. The Ylläs-Levi region is a great place for cross-country skiing offering a variety of ski courses with over 500 km of groomed trails. With several spa facilities, après ski options and two Alpine Ski resorts, it is the perfect place for a season closer.
