Spain is probably not the country many of us have in mind when we talk about long distance skiing. You were able to read a nice article about the country's cross-country ski locations and other training resorts, but so far there haven't been articles written about Spanish athletes double-poling their way to glory.
Things may change as we now have our first Spanish Pro Skier Sadurni Betriu Boix; two-time number 5 at the Spanish Nationals and 100th at Vasaloppet. He is going to represent the new Italian Team called Sottozero Gold Team - Zorzi Max. The Pro Team is based on a recreational ski team build around a famous TV show about winter sports in Italy.
We will soon bring you an in-depth interview with this interesting new face in the Visma Ski Classics crowd and another one about the new Pro Team as it is the first to be inspired by a television series.
