This time of the year seems to be perfect for Visma Ski Classics pro teams to have their first training camps. The winter season is long gone and the summer has just started. Our “Pro Team of the Week” Team Serneke is currently in Åland, Finland, training hard and testing themselves while many other pro teams are doing the same or just about to start their kick-off camps around Europe. One of them is another Swedish outfit Lager 157 Ski Team, which finished 3rd in the pro team competition last season.
The team started their training camp in Ulricehamn, Sweden, on Wednesday, and the team consists of the same athletes as last year except one new recruit, Øyvind Moen Fjeld. He is a strong addition to the squad after being a reliable support skier in Team Ragde Eiendom for four years. He finally managed to reach the podium in Ylläs-Levi this season (3rd), and he is keen on repeating the feat when the Season X is in full swing. You can read our Q&A with him at https://vismaskiclassics.com/news/articles/oyvind-moen-fjeld-takes-the-stage-and-leaps-from-a-supporting-role-to-a-lead-player/
Lager 157 Ski Team has an ambitious plan for the off-season as they are going to have a training camp once a month until October. They will also participate in a couple of roller-ski races starting with Tanumsloppet in Sweden this weekend.
The team’s director Anton Järnberg has high hopes for his skiers and believes that they will develop and improve their skills over the summer and fall. He thinks that Fjeld is the needed boost for his gang to achieve better results in the men’s competition, and of course, he is counting on Britta Johansson Norgren to defend the Hertz Champion title.
