This Saturday’s Ylläs-Levi in Finland is the 14th and final event in the Visma Ski Classics Season XII. The men start at 7:35 CET and the women at 7:40 CET. Looking at the start list, here are some of the favorites.
The 70-kilometer race takes the Pro Tour skiers to the magical world of Lapland in Finland. Ylläs-Levi starts at Ylläs ski resort and goes through breathtakingly sensational views, ending on the main street in the center of Levi.
Expect many battles during the race and at the finish line. At the final Visma Ski Classics Season XII event, there will be one Sprint and two Climb checkpoints: Äkäslompolo Sprint at 15km, Kellostapulinkuru Climb at 8km, and Kukastunturi Climb at 22km.
In the women’s field, Astrid Øyre Slind, Team Koteng Eidissen, is one of the favorites to win the race on Saturday due to her impressive performance in the last races.
Øyre Slind is one of the favorites, but there are at least four more potential podium skiers. We can mention Emilie Fleten, Team XPND Fuel, and Lina Korsgren, Team Ramudden, who can surprise and step on the podium if they are on a good day; and Ida Dahl, Team Ramudden, and Britta Johansson Norgren, Lager 157 Ski Team.
Ida Dahl is second overall, 97 points behind Britta Johansson Norgren; on the other side, Britta can take her sixth overall victory in her last race as a Pro Tour skier. The fight for the podium and points will be fierce and animated.
On the men’s side, Andreas Nygaard, Team Ragde Charge, secured his third overall victory in Visma Ski Classics with his eighth place at Reistadløpet last Saturday and is one of the favorites for Ylläs-Levi.
Team Ramudden Pro Tour skiers Max Novak and Johannes Eklöf, are solid names for the top spots at Ylläs-Levi and can get good results. Emil Persson, Lager 157 Ski Team, is another robust Pro Tour skier and can be back at the top of the podium tomorrow morning.
There is an open and exciting battle between Emil Persson and Max Novak for second place overall. Only 25 points separate the duo before the final at Ylläs-Levi tomorrow.
In addition, we can anticipate some great performances and a good fight for top places from Tord Asle Gjerdalen, Team XPND Fuel, and Kasper Stadaas, Team Ragde Charge, to name a few of the top Pro Tour skiers.
Don’t miss out on the event, available on Ski Classics Play. The men start at 7:35 CET and the women at 7:40 CET.
