Furusjøen Rundt-Rennet, Trysil Skimaraton and Bessemerloppet guarantee a weekend full of excitement for the Visma Ski Classics Challengers series.
On Saturday, February 15, two events take place in Norway, Furusjøen Rundt-Rennet and Trysil Skimaraton, with both events being part of the Visma Ski Classics Challengers and also a seeding race for Vasaloppet and Birkebeinerrennet.
Furusjøen Rundt-Rennet is a 45km long-distance ski race in classic technique, taking place in Kvam. The event runs in a fantastic terrain on Kvamsfjellet, which is located at the entrance of Rondane National Park, one of Norway’s most beautiful mountain areas.
The second Challengers of the day is Trysil Skimaraton, the event is a 42km long-distance ski race in classic technique that has been organized for 20 years, with great tracks and unique atmosphere, taking place in Østby, Trysil, in the eastern part of Norway, close to the Swedish border.
Next day, on Sunday, February 16, is time for Bessemerloppet in Sweden. The event is a classic long-distance ski race that takes place in Högbo Bruk, Sandviken area since 1960. Due to lack of snow this year, the race was reallocated to Harsa (Järvsö) in Hälsingland and will be carried out with an introductory lap of 4km and thereafter 3 laps on a 14.4km loop in a total of 47.2km.
Bessemerloppet is a seeding race and always takes place two weeks before Vasaloppet, being a perfect preparation for the biggest Swedish long-distance ski event.
