Thorleif Haugs Minneløp becomes part of the Ski Classics Challengers circuit with a 50-kilometer race in classic technique on February 3, 2024, at Finnemarka, Norway.
Thorleif Haugs Minneløp is a long-distance skiing event, taking place in idyllic Finnemarka between Drammen, Lier, and Modum since 1966, and now joins the Ski Classics Challengers circuit for the upcoming edition on February 3, 2024.
The event honors the Norwegian ski legend Thorleif Haug, celebrating 100 years since he won three gold medals in the first Winter Olympic Games in Chamonix, France, in 1924.
Results Chamonix Olympic Games 1924

- Ski Jump – 4th place
- Six times winner
Thorleif Haugs Memorial Race was first hosted in 1966, and on February 3, 2024, the Local Organizing Committee is introducing a new memorial course (tested in 2023). The new course is located in some of the most beautiful surroundings in Finnemarka, outside Drammen, Norway. The location was Hauern’s backyard, literally, where he trained more or less every day.
Ski Classics Legend Andreas Nygaard, Team Ragde Charge, and Fanny Endresen, Team Janteloppet, won last year’s test race.
The Local Organizing Committee is pleased to be joining the Ski Classics Challengers circuit:
“Hauern is really proud to become part of the Ski Classics Challengers calendar. The race is one of the oldest and most traditional races in Norway,” and added:
“Hopefully, this will contribute to the participation of younger athletes in a tough but beautiful racecourse. Truly a Challenge!”
