The Ski Classics Pro Teams are now registered for the upcoming Season XIV. Thirty-five Pro Teams have been granted a license for the Ski Classics Season XIV, starting in Bad Gastein, Austria, on December 10, 2022. In total there are in Ski Classics rules 35 Pro Team licenses to hand out, the 25 best Pro Teams from previous season automatically receive a new pro team license for an upcoming winter, remains and new teams need to apply. Some exiting Pro Teams may have new names due to changes in their partner structure.
Ski Classics specially like to welcome the three new Pro Teams; "Danish Ski Marathon Team", "Bruse Sauerland Ski Team" from Germany and Norwegian "Team Northug" to the family.
Norway is in the top with 12 registered Pro Teams, followed by Sweden with 6 Pro Teams. Finland has 4 Pro Teams while Italy and Czech Republic have 3 and Germany 2. There are 6 countries with one Pro Team: France, Estonia, Switzerland, Austria, and Denmark. In addition, Russian Winter Team, has received a frozen license due to the current situation in Ukraine.
In Season XIV, there are 14 Pro Tour events in 10 event weekends in 6 different countries. The shortest events are the 15km Bad Gastein Pro Team Tempo on December 10 in Austria and the 15km Grönklitt ITT, Individual Time Trial, on February 19, 2023, in Sweden. The longest event this winter is the 90km Vasaloppet in Sweden.
