The Czech Pro Team, Silvini Madshus Team, consists of seven Pro athletes for season XI.
The Pro Team has new additions in Olympic relay bronze medalist Martin Jakš and Helena Karásková-Erbenová for season XI.
“I think Martin will be strong in Jizerská 50, Birken and Reistadløpet,” says Pro Team Director Marek Pazderský.
Marek is, of course, happy that he recruited Martin Jakš. The 34 years old is a former junior world champion, bronze medalist in the relay in the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver and he was 7th in Team Sprint and 8th in 50 km at the 2018 Olympics in PyeongChang.
“He missed skiing and decided to help our Pro Team. He won some roller ski races this summer, so he is still in good shape. We believe in his strength at the Prologue weekend in Livigno and then in Jizerská 50, Birken and Reistadløpet,” says Pro Team Director Marek Pazderský.
Jakš actually did Reistadløpet back in 2017 and finished in 11th place.
Is season X Silvini Madshus Team finished 11th in the Pro Team competition.
“Last year we had a great season, Jiří Pliska moved into top 20 in some races, Vašek Sedláček in top 30. Considering that he works full time, it's unbelievable. We have increased our training efforts for season XI and hope to build on last year's results,” says Marek Pazderský.
This summer Silvini Madshus Team had to make some changes in their training camp plan.
“We had to cancel several training camps abroad and at home, but that doesn't mean we don't train. Each of the athletes has their individual plans and follows them,” says Marek and continues;
“Now we have a tough training camp in the Jizera Mountains which we will repeat in October. Then we were supposed to go to Mallorca for 14 days, but it is currently not possible. We will probably look for an alternative solution at home. In November, we planned to go to Sjusjoen in Norway for 14 days but it is also uncertain. We are considering a change to Livigno.”
