The Czech Pro Team, eD system Bauer Team, consists of eight Pro athletes for season XI.
A lot has happened with eD system Bauer Team since season X, but the big star Katerina Smutna is still in the Pro Team, and they have also recruited Swedish Bob Impola, who was second in Vasaloppet 2018.
“Our primary focus is to support Smutna and Impola as much as possible,” says Pro Team Director Lukas Bauer.
“With a large rebuilding of eD system Bauer Team after last season, we are heading to season XI with a primary focus to support Katerina Smutna and Bob Impola as much as possible. We are also bringing new faces to the Pro Tour,” says Bauer.
“Our goal is to give our new athletes a chance and support. Also, teach them how to become stronger in long distance races. With this in mind, it’s our first season when the Team competition is not so important for us. This way, we can just surprise,” Bauer continues.
“It´s not a resignation for the Team competition, that always was very important for us, but we don’t want to bind our non-experienced athletes with such expectations this season. Despite this fact, I´m sure that we have an exciting composition of the Pro team and our traditional pink racing suit will be very visible in many races.”
Bauer is also pleased with the support he gets for his Pro team.
“In those tough times, we have to thank our partners a lot for their continued support and also Visma Ski Classics for incredibly hard work to make races come true as much as possible,” Bauer ends.
