Team Mäenpää, a Pro Team from Finland, continues its fruitful cooperation with GRK Infra Oy, and the company now becomes the main sponsor of the team. Matti Heikkinen, a World Champion and triple bronze medalist, is the marketing and communications chief of GRK Infra, and he is happy with the cooperation.
“Visma Ski Classics is a tour where extremely strong athletes compete in various challenging conditions, and it is very intriguing to watch. The tour, our company and Team Mäenpää share the same principles, and we think that the best possible results can be achieved by cooperation. We are not afraid if things get tough every once in a while,” Heikkinen states with a gleam in his eye.
The team’s director Kim Mäenpää agrees with Heikkinen and admits that they are very pleased with the fact that their can continue working together in the future as well.
“Matti is a former professional skier, and he understands skiing very well. That’s certainly an added bonus,” Mäenpää says without hesitation.
Team Mäenpää has trained well this summer, and they had two high altitude camps in Livigno, Italy. They still have three more camps in the calendar before Season XII starts in Orsa, Sweden. Next week, they will head to Mallorca, and in November and December, they will have camps in Idre Fjäll.
There are two women in the team, Anne Kyllönen and Julia Häger, both established standard distance skiers, and four men, Viktor Mäenpää, Hans Mäenpää, Hannes Mäenpää and Christoffer Lindvall, all experienced Visma Ski Classics athletes. They are negotiating with some skiers to be part of the Scandinavian leg of the Pro Tour.
