The double Ski Classics Challengers event, Sovereign 2 SilverStar Ski Marathon, Classic and Skate, will take place this weekend, April 4 and 5, 2026, in Vernon, Canada.
Sovereign 2 SilverStar Ski Marathon (S2S) is a double Ski Classics Challengers event, featuring a 41km classic race on Saturday, April 4, and a 41km skate race on Sunday, April 5, 2026. Shorter 21km events are also available over the weekend, along with the Stussi Night Sprints in skate technique on Thursday, April 2.
The S2S is primarily a citizen race, where ‘Finishing is Winning’. Skiers range in age from 6 to 85, with a strong representation of Master’s athletes. At the same time, the event also includes competitive and elite categories.
Several athletes will kick off their S2S participation with the Stussi Night Sprints on April 2. The 1.1km course promises an exciting format for both racers and spectators. In the Elite category, prize money will be awarded to the top three men and women: 1st ($1,000), 2nd ($500), and 3rd ($200).
For the 41km classic and skate races, prize money and free entries will be awarded to the top overall male and female finishers: 1st ($500), 2nd ($400), 3rd ($300), 4th ($200), 5th ($100), and 6th–8th place (free entry to one S2S event the following year).
The S2S welcomes skiers, families, and spectators from near and far. For visitors, SilverStar Mountain Resort offers a full-service mountain experience, with a wide range of accommodation options and restaurants in the village.
The ski season finale coincides with spring in the Okanagan Valley, just a 20-minute drive down the mountain. Visitors can enjoy winter and spring in the same day, with access to golf courses, wineries, markets, local farms, and hiking and biking trails.
